Everything Dogs Book Collection

Everything Dogs: A World of Dog Education & Everything you want to know about Dogs.

From dog rescue and adoption to health, training, and emergency preparedness, Animal Enrichment, Everything Dogs grew from years of hands-on experience and a simple belief: every dog deserves a chance.

Dogs have always held a special place in my heart. Over the years, my love for animals led me into rescue work, fostering, adoption photography, educational projects and community outreach throughout Palm Beach County and South Florida.

I photographed shelter dogs, created adoption flyers and videos, and used my own original music in projects designed to give homeless animals greater visibility. I also had the opportunity to introduce adoptable shelter dogs to television audiences through CBS 12 News’ Pet of the Day segments.

Seeing frightened or overlooked shelter dogs eventually become beloved members of families made all of that work worthwhile.

Turning Experience Into the Everything Dogs Book Collection

After years of collecting photographs, stories and lessons learned through rescue and fostering, I wanted that information to continue helping dogs and their families.

That became the Everything Dogs Book Collection by Mercy Lopez—four educational books covering different stages and challenges of life with a dog.

🦴 Getting Started on the Right Paw — Basic Dog Training

Bringing a new dog home can be exciting, but it also requires patience, preparation and understanding.

Getting Started on the Right Paw covers choosing the right dog, introducing a new pet into your home and family, animal enrichment, house training, dog-proofing your home, basic commands, leash walking and reward-based training.

The goal is not simply training a dog. It is creating communication, trust and a lifelong bond.

🌿 Dogs Holistic Health Maintenance & Remedies Encyclopedia

One of the questions I’ve always been interested in is: What is really in our pets’ food?

This book explores canine health and wellness, including natural nutrition, herbs and supplements, skin and digestive health, flea and tick prevention, senior dog care, homemade recipes, foods dogs can and cannot eat, preventive care and holistic approaches to supporting a dog’s well-being.

Becoming informed about nutrition and everyday health choices can help dog owners ask better questions and make more thoughtful decisions for their pets.

Natural and holistic information should complement, not replace, appropriate veterinary care.

🚑 Dog Emergencies: What to Do in a Pet Emergency

Emergencies can happen anywhere—at home, during a walk, in the car or while traveling.

Dog Emergencies was created to help owners become better prepared for those frightening moments when every second counts.

Topics include common canine emergencies, basic first aid, overheating and heat stroke, choking and the Heimlich maneuver, canine CPR, emergency rescue protocols and practical safety information.

Knowing what to do while obtaining immediate veterinary care can make an enormous difference.

❤️ Saving Shelter Dogs

Saving Shelter Dogs comes directly from my years of rescue work and experiences with shelter animals.

It shares shelter dog success stories while exploring fostering, volunteering, adoption, community outreach, Black Dog Syndrome, breed awareness and rescue advocacy.

Most importantly, it looks at the positive things individuals and communities can do to help reduce the number of dogs entering and remaining in shelters.

Sometimes helping begins with adoption. Sometimes it’s fostering, volunteering, photographing a shelter dog, sharing an adoption post or simply helping someone understand responsible pet ownership.

Every effort can make a difference.

Education Can Help Save Lives

The four books cover very different subjects, but they share the same purpose: helping people become more knowledgeable, prepared and compassionate dog owners.

If something I’ve learned through rescue helps another person care for their dog, strengthens the relationship between a family and their pet, or helps another shelter dog find a loving home, then these books have accomplished what I hoped they would.

Follow the Everything Dogs Journey

I’ll continue sharing dog health and wellness information, rescue and adoption stories, photography and videos, holistic-care topics, dog-friendly South Florida experiences—and occasional appearances from my own rescue dogs.
